U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Monrovia) is demanding that Senate Democrats vote with Republicans to reopen the government.
In a statement released on social media Wednesday, Strong stressed the harsh impact on everyday Americans should the government remain closed.
"This Democrat shutdown is hurting the American people," said Strong. "Service members, air traffic controllers, and more essential staff are working without knowing if their next paycheck is coming."
"Hundreds of thousands of federal workers have been furloughed. Mothers, infants, and children are at risk of losing WIC benefits."
Strong said the left in the Senate should immediately get on board with the continuing resolution recently passed by the House, in the interest of all citizens in the country.
"It's time for Senate Dem
