The Met Office has issued its verdict on exactly when wet weather will return to UK following the disruption of Storm Amy last weekend. High pressure will dominate, meaning there will be no dramatic changes to weather conditions this week.

In its latest 10-day weather forecast, the Met Office states that the high-pressure system is sitting out to the west of the UK, but as the week progresses, it will slowly edge eastwards. By the weekend, it is expected to bring predominantly dry and settled conditions.

It comes after Storm Amy hit many parts of the UK last weekend, causing major disruption, with heavy rain and strong winds throughout Saturday.
