Thomas G. Lawrence, 66, of Emporia was arrested shortly after midnight Thursday on multiple counts, including suspicion of driving under the influence, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and battery on a law enforcement officer.

Lawrence was originally stopped during a traffic stop and DUI investigation near Twelfth Avenue and Merchant Street. He faces counts of suspicion of Driving Under the Influence, Interference with Law Enforcement, Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, No Vehicle Insurance, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
