NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A pair of teachers filed separate lawsuits against two Tennessee school districts this week after being punished over their comments on Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
The teachers are fighting to get their jobs back and say they were wrongfully terminated over sharing private social media posts reacting to Charlie Kirk’s death and criticizing the conservative activist.
One of the teachers also said that dozens of Tennessee students have signed a petition asking the district to reinstate her.
Court records show that Susannah O’Brien filed a suit Wednesday against the Rutherford County Board of Education and specifically James Sullivan, the Director of Rutherford County Schools. O’Brien’s suit says she was fired after teaching Midstate elementary schoolers for 25
