Deputies responded to an incident in Orlando near the South Orlando YMCA and nearby Oak Ridge High School on Thursday afternoon.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office has confirmed one juvenile has died after being shot by another juvenile at Vogt-Meloon Park.

The incident started on a basketball court at Vogt-Meloon Park before the suspect fled on foot to Oak Ridge High School. He was then detained by a resource deputy and is in custody, OCSO said.

According to OCSO, the victim was transported to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Chopper 2 was over the scene where several law enforcement vehicles and crime scene tape could be seen.
