The first poll of the mayoral race since Mayor Eric Adams abandoned his reelection bid last month is out, and it shows his exit has had only a minimal impact on the race.
A Quinnipiac University poll released on Thursday shows Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani continuing to hold a double-digit lead over his other rivals in the race, independent Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa . Forty-six percent of likely voters said they would back Mamdani for mayor followed by Cuomo with 33 percent and Sliwa with 15 percent.
Cuomo appears to have gotten a significant boost as a result of Adams dropping out of the race. Quinnipiac’s September 10 poll found the former governor receiving 23 percent of support and Mamdami and Sliwa roughly where they are today.
On favorability, Mamdan
