The Soo Greyhounds ran through a well-oiled practice Thursday, blowing through drills ahead of a challenging weekend at home against the Kitchener Rangers and Windsor Spitfires.
But before tomorrow rolls around, there’s only one thing on everyone’s mind.
Brady Martin — their teammate, linemate, friend — is about to make his NHL debut with the Nashville Predators.
“F—ing proud!” head coach John Dean said, grinning wide after practice. “I hope people understand how proud a moment this is for the coaching staff, the organization, but the city as well. Here’s a young man who thrives off the crowd and gets juiced from the fans, and I think the Sault faithful are a big part of his success. I really do.”
Martin, just 18, is slated to centre the Predators’ top line Thursday night against the C
