BATON ROUGE, La. (KNOE) - The Louisiana Office of Tourism launches Hot Sauce Trail to coincide with National Gumbo Day. The trail features factory tours such as the iconic Tabasco on Avery Island.

The trail can be downloaded from LouisianaHotSauceTrail.com . Visitors can check into different stops along the trail to earn points that can be redeemed for prizes.

The development of the trail is part of Louisiana’s Year of Food Campaign.

Over the Oct. 12 weekend, four different food trucks will hand out samples of Louisiana Gumbo and a special ‘Hot Sauce Trail’ bottle of Louisiana Hot Sauce. The food trucks will roll into the following cities:

Washington, DC

Philadelphia, PA

Dallas, TX

Santa Monica, CA
