MADISON, Wis. -- Forward Madison's Issac Angking will have a chance to take the field against Lionel Messi next week.
The midfielder was called up to Puerto Rico's national team for an upcoming friendly against Argentina, which is set for next Tuesday. Angking is on loan at Forward from Rhode Island FC and has 2 goals in 11 appearances.
Angking has tallied several caps for Puerto Rico since making his debut in January 2021. He tallied his first international goal during a 7-0 win over the Bahamas in June 2021.
For Puerto Rico, there could be no tougher test. Argentina are the reigning World Cup champions and manager Lionel Scaloni has opted to bring his top guys along for this month's tour of the U.S.
The Argentine squad, announced last week, features big names like keeper Emi Martinez
