NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Getting something installed or repaired can be pricey, but a newly-filed Tennessee bill could make that cost a little cheaper if lawmakers determine the state can afford the change.
The proposed legislation, sponsored by Sen. Adam Lowe (R-Calhoun), would cut sales tax on labor and service costs on tangible items, for example, car repair or appliance installation.
However, Lowe told News 2 he wants to learn how much money Tennessee is generating through this tax first, which is why he filed the bill.
