NEW DELHI: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the completed stretches of National Highway 66 in Kerala in January, State Minister PA Mohamed Riyas announced. The Palakkad–Kozhikode Greenfield Highway will also be inaugurated in January.

Riyas said that during a meeting with Gadkari, it was decided that Rs 237 crore spent by the state government for land acquisition for NH 66 would be written off.

More than 450 kilometres (around 70%) of the highway have already been completed, he said. The government is aiming to finish all 16 remaining stretches before January. To ensure this, Gadkari will convene a meeting in Delhi this month with contractors and officials, Riyas added.
