“Survivor 49” contestant Jake Latimer was medically evacuated during the Wednesday, Oct. 8, episode after getting bitten by a venemous snake.

Jake remained calm after a highly venomous banded sea krait “latched onto” the bottom of his foot. His fellow Kele trime meber Alex Moore found a picture of the serpent in the camp safety guide and knew that Jake was in real trouble.

“I’m worried about his life at this point. I’m scared out of my mind, but I can’t scare Jake,” Alex told cameras in the episode.

Jake, whose wife was due to give birth to their first baby while he was on the show, told paramedics that he had “a baby coming” and was “scared” about what might happen to him.
