A woman in Michigan is happy she picked up the phone for a call that turned out to be life-changing.

Valerie Williams, 65, of Westland, took home a $1 million prize from the Michigan Lottery after she was one of five randomly selected finalists for the Sept. 19 Electric Giveaway live event at Comerica Park, the lottery said in a Wednesday, Oct. 8, news release .
