LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Meridian Township officials say Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents carried out an operation in the township Thursday morning.

Township Supervisor Scott Hendrickson told News 10 in a statement he was made aware of the operation Thursday morning and said ICE officials “did not provide any details about the nature of their operations or the locations where they would be operating.”

Hendrickson said no township officials or law enforcement officers were at any point involved in the operations. He added that they “do not assist federal agents solely acting on the purpose of enforcing immigration laws.”

“As far as we are aware, the operation has concluded and ICE agents are no longer in the Township,” Hendrickson said.
