The National Weather Service has issued frost advisory for Thursday night into Friday for the immediate Pittsburgh region, including Allegheny County, and a freeze warning for much of the rest of western Pennsylvania.

Overnight temperatures will be in the low to upper 30s across the area, with the warmer temperatures in the city of Pittsburgh and in southwest reaches of the region.

A freeze warning takes effect when temperatures are expected to fall below freezing, while frost advisories are issued when conditions are conducive to frost formation, which can still occur when air temperatures are above freezing, said Colton Milcarek, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service office in Moon.
