MAGA commentators erupted on Thursday after a video surfaced on social media showing a man in a red hat being removed from a Delta airplane.

In the video, the man claims he was asked to step off the plane because of the red Trump hat he was wearing. The hat reads "Build Back Better My A--," a common slogan used by MAGA to deride one of former President Joe Biden's signature legislative pieces.

The man records the discussion he had with the airplane's pilot, where the pilot says, "Safety is my number-one concern." The pilot also claimed that the person was not removed because of his hat, but because he refused to comply with the safety instructions provided by the flight crew.

"How do I know that in an emergency that you would comply with their simple instructions?" the pilot asked.

MAGA commentators responded to the post on social media.

"Defund them!" Derrick Evans, a former MAGA political candidate, posted on X.

"I got my MAGA hat, which Delta flight are we booking?" Sales Nexus CEO Craig Klein posted on X.

"What the actual f---, @Delta?" former Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz posted on X.

"This captain is saying that if what a passenger is wearing is [disputably] 'offensive,' then this passenger is 'unsafe.' Completely crazy," Wendy Rodgers, a MAGA-aligned state Senator from Arizona, posted on X.

"This has gone way too far. Soon enough and they will ban you from wearing any shirt with text on it," Ron McCune posted on X.
