SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

Northern California is set to experience another cool day Thursday ahead of a notable departure from temperatures above 80 degrees.

Meteorologist Tamara Berg said Thursday's forecast high for downtown Sacramento is 75 degrees, a slight dip from the 77 degrees recorded Wednesday. The average for this time of year is 82 degrees.

In the Foothills, temperatures could peak in the upper 60s, while the Sierra may see highs in the low 60s.

Heading into the weekend, temperatures will continue to wind down.

Berg said chances for the first storm of the season could be as early as Monday. Rain and snow are possible Monday and Tuesday. The KCRA 3 weather team is working to confirm the estimated timing and totals for the possible storm.
