The San Francisco 49ers have been on a bumpy ride this season with injuries targeting their quarterback spot. Brock Purdy, the once-reliable starter, is still sidelined with a toe injury that’s kept him out for three games, leaving Mac Jones to fill in. Jones has taken the reins with grit but also carries his own load of injuries.
General manager John Lynch offered some relief in his interview with KNBR. The backup quarterback, nursing knee and oblique bumps, looks ready for Sunday’s showdown in Tampa Bay. Lynch told KNBR that Jones is in good shape despite the injury report. “We feel pretty good about where he’s going to be,” GM said.
Jones started this stretch replacing Purdy and has reclaimed momentum, winning all three starts, including a gutsy 342-yard, two-touchdow
