NEW YORK — A FEDERAL GRAND JURY on Thursday indicted New York Attorney General Letitia James , according to Reuters, AP and other sources. Lindsey Halligan, President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer and handpicked U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, presented the case to the grand jury.
The move is the president’s latest effort to weaponize government power against his critics, according to Reuters. Halligan also recently secured the indictment of another Trump critic, former FBI Director James Comey, on charges that he lied to Congress. Career prosecutors had refused to participate in his indictment.
