Nebraska’s first year with Dani Busboom Kelly as head coach was unique from the start, considering most of the roster and coaching staff stayed the same when Busboom Kelly took over as head coach and John Cook retired. Oftentimes, after a coaching switch, a team will shuffle assistant coaches and lose players to the portal.

The Huskers were obviously really good last year, too, but Nebraska's success this year — a 14-0 record and No. 1 ranking — wasn't a given. In fact, NU actually could have lost its very first match of the season against Pittsburgh. And the Huskers have played two other top 10 teams.
