SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) -- Thursday's shooting incident in Springfield left three people dead, the Sangamon County Sheriff's Office said.

In a news release, officials said deputies were dispatched to the area of Hoover Avenue and Henry Street for a report of a shooting inside a home. When they arrived, deputies found three people deceased.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials could not release any further details.
