Management at Brockville’s overnight warming centre for homeless people wants a chance to state its case to the county government, following the latter’s decision to eliminate funding for the facility.
The staff report that prompted the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville to discontinue funding the Co-Operative Care Centre contains inaccuracies, Tony Barnes, treasurer of the Brockville Housing Partnership, which runs the centre, said in an interview Thursday.

“We’re hoping that we can have an opportunity to get the matter reconsidered at the next meeting once we’ve corrected the numbers,” said Barnes.
Such a presentation could take place at the next joint services committee meeting in early November.
