ROCKFORD, Ill. — The Head of the Rock Regatta is set to bring thousands to Rockford on October 12, 2025, showcasing the city's vibrant riverfront.
This annual rowing competition will feature approximately 2,000 athletes from 15 states, highlighting Rockford's appeal and providing an economic boost with an estimated impact of $925,000. The event, running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., will take place along the Rock River Recreation Path.
Jane Johnson, the event director, emphasized the venue's appeal. "The river is beautiful and it's a huge asset for the City of Rockford," Johnson said. "People like this venue because it's fairly straight and there's only one bridge to navigate."
