YANKTON, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - This week, the state held the first of five input meetings for the Rural Health Transformation Program Grant in Yankton.
The state is hoping to receive up to $200 million in grant money every year for the next five years. Money is given in priority based on rurality.
Part of the state’s biggest challenge is trying to provide a large but rural state with good healthcare all across. Stacey Andernacht with Feeding South Dakota said whether it’s providing food or healthcare, distances can be hard to overcome, but there is plenty of room to grow.
