A man appeared to have been shot in the face in Seattle, and police have yet to identify a suspect.

Officers are investigating after a 40-year-old man is believed to have been shot in South Seattle Wednesday night, the Seattle Police Department (SPD) reported .

Police responded to reports of a shooting near South Winthrop Street and Cheasty Boulevard South in North Beacon Hill.

Officers found a man with significant injuries to his head and face from a suspected gunshot wound.

“This is a suspected shooting,” SPD Detective Eric Munoz said. “We do need those medical professionals to look at those injuries and determine exactly what happened.”
