LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Acrisure, a Grand Rapids-based brokerage company, announced it will be employing artificial intelligence to assist with accounting operations.
According to Crain’s Grand Rapids Business, this change would cut 400 jobs globally, 200 of those coming from the Grand Rapids branch.
Integrating AI into the workplace is a growing trend. Some people are positive about the benefits for businesses that adopt the technology, while others warn about the negative impact on workers.
Ryan Sebolt works with the Michigan AFL-CIO, which represents labor unions. He says his biggest concern is AI replacing human workers.
“It’s unfortunate that products that were once sold as supposed to be helping workers are now being used to replace workers instead,” said Sebolt.
He says he does
