PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- One person is dead and another critically injured after more than 20 shots were fired in South Philadelphia Thursday evening, according to police.
The shooting happened just after 6 p.m. near Broad Street and Packer Avenue.
When police arrived, they found 23-year-old Hason Mason shot multiple times to the face and body. He was rushed to Jefferson Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A second victim, also a 23-year-old man, ran to a nearby bar for help after being shot twice in the torso. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in stable condition.
Chief Inspector Scott Small said a vehicle believed to be connected to the victims was found still running and unattended near the scene.
