A district judge barred the deployment of National Guard troops to Illinois for 14 days, issuing a temporary restraining order on Thursday evening.

Judge April Perry denied the Trump administration’s request for a stay on the order , which expires on Oct. 23 at 11:59 p.m. The judge said the court would hold a hearing on Oct. 22 at 9 a.m. to decide whether there should be a second 14-day restraining order after the initial order expires.
