Local residents told the media that several blasts were heard near Abdul Haq Square in the city, and fighter jets were seen in the sky. According to Pakistani media, the Pakistan Air Force carried out an airstrike in Kabul and killed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chief Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud. Mehsud had been leading the TTP since 2018 and was accused of operating in Afghanistan with the support of the Taliban.
