After playing in the championship game last season the Youngstown State men's basketball team was picked third in the Horizon League preseason poll.

The voting was conducted by the league's head coaches, SIDs and selected media members.

The Penguin's Cris Carroll earned preseason All League First Team honors after averaging 9 points & 5 rebounds in 34 games last year.
