MANSFIELD, Mass. (WPRI) — Police have arrested a Connecticut man who led an officer on a chase through Mansfield Thursday morning.

Nathaniel Mutts Jr., 32, of Branford, Conn., was taken into custody following the low-speed pursuit, which began near Chauncy Street and Winthrop Avenue.

Police said an officer was conducting traffic enforcement at the intersection when he spotted a vehicle and discovered the driver's registration had been canceled.

The officer attempted to pull the driver over, but he refused to stop.

Police said the officer followed the driver, later identified as Mutts, onto Route 140. The chase continued onto Walnut Street and then West Street, where Mutts reportedly ran a stop sign.
