MUSCATINE COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) - One person has died following a crash in Muscatine County early Thursday morning.

The Iowa State Patrol say four others were taken to UIHC in Iowa City for treatment.

Authorities were called out to Highway 70 near 277th Street around 6 a.m. They learned a Ford Explorer had crossed the center line and collided head on with a Chevy Cruze.

The Cruze left the road and rolled before coming to a stop in a ditch and then became fully engulfed in flames.

One person was confirmed dead on scene. Their name has not been released.

Three of the four victims sent to the hospital are from Lone Tree and Cedar Rapids.
