A 22-year-old California State University, Long Beach student stabbed to death by one of his roommates over the weekend has been identified.

The Oct. 5 incident occurred at around 10:40 a.m. in the 1300 block of Temple Avenue, according to officials with the Long Beach Police Department.

Responding officers found two men suffering from stab wounds to the upper body. One of the victims was rushed to the hospital in stable condition, while the other victim, now identified as Spencer Timms, an industrial design student at the university, was declared dead at the scene.

The County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s report listed his cause of death as multiple stab wounds to the chest.
