POLK COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) - A 55-year-old man was sentenced on Thursday to nearly 23 years in prison for 12 charges of rape, sexual assault, burglary, and strangulation in West Salem, according to the Polk County District Attorney’s Office.

First-degree rape.

First-degree sodomy.

Two counts of first-degree unlawful sexual penetration.

Two counts of first-degree sexual abuse.

First-degree burglary.

Third-degree robbery.

First-degree theft.

Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Strangulation.

Fourth-degree assault.

Last year, according to court records, Kleinschmit broke into a woman’s home while she was alone. He attacked, raped, and strangled her. He then bound her and stole guns, jewelry and a car.
