DERBY, CT. (WFSB) - A 31-year-old Derby woman faces multiple charges after police said she assaulted a man and his dog, then led officers on a dangerous chase that ended with her striking a police cruiser and another vehicle.

Aliyah Beeman was arrested Thursday following an incident that began in a parking lot on Elizabeth Street, where police said she assaulted a man and his dog before fleeing in a stolen vehicle.

Officers located the vehicle on Elizabeth Street near Seymour Avenue and attempted a traffic stop.

Police said Beeman tried to escape by illegally passing another vehicle, intentionally striking a police cruiser and side-swiping another vehicle that was occupied.
