CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A man who was released from the Mecklenburg County Jail earlier this week is wanted by Baltimore police for allegedly killing another man in July 2025.

According to jail records, 55-year-old Charles Boatwright was released from the Mecklenburg County Jail at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Baltimore police posted on Facebook on Thursday and said that Boatwright was wanted for his alleged involvement in killing 56-year-old Randolph Smith on July 13, 2025.

Baltimore police said that anyone with information on the whereabouts of Boatwright is urged to contact Homicide Detectives at 410-396-2100 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup.
