CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand unspoken words.

At LIFESPAN Services, folks with disabilities find an outlet to express their true colors in art class.

“It’s really cool being able to see the difference you can make in their lives,” says art assistant Rebecca Longenback.

“Art is very cool,” said Demarion Flemming, who was in class for a special project tying two local nonprofits together.

It brings back the best memories, especially for Ethan Charnley.

Longenbach explained that it can take months for him to open up. Often, he’d much rather show than tell. In fact, he mostly nodded while we were there.

But Ethan’s art says a lot.
