Washington ― A general picked to serve as the next chief of staff of the U.S. Air Force reiterated plans Thursday to send a squadron of F-15EX fighter aircraft to Michigan's Selfridge Air National Guard base on time in 2028, assuming the required infrastructure upgrades are complete.
"I am super excited for Selfridge, not only to get the F-15 squadron, but also a KC-46 squadron, the associated infrastructure improvements that come along with those two platforms. I think you're going to make Selfridge Air National Guard Base the best base in the country," Gen. Kenneth S. Wilsbach said during a hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee.
