City of Melville councillors have dismissed claims the council does not value the community’s views.
They were raised at the September 16 meeting when the council unanimously adopted a revised governance framework.
The governance framework sets out what elected members and city staff do and how they should do it. It was first adopted last year.
But Bull Creek resident Gavin Waugh claimed at the meeting there had not been any improvements over the past two years and the community was not valued.
“There is nothing more depressing or morale-busting than to witness time and again the disrespect feted out on community members whose only crime in life is to seek to engage with their local government in encouragement of improvements to governance management in their community,” he said.
