Hours before the announcement of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize , Donald Trump lashed out at former US President Barack Obama, claiming he received the award for "doing nothing" and for "destroying our country." Trump further said that Obama was "not a good president."
Speaking to reporters, Trump cited his own achievements in brokering peace in Gaza and ending "eight wars," but insisted he was not motivated by the pursuit of awards. He expressed frustration that Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize only months into his presidency.
"He got it for doing nothing. Obama got a prize – he didn't even know what – he got elected, and they gave it to Obama for doing absolutely nothing but destroying our country," he said.
