Over the past 25 years, the team that has rushed for more yards in the Red River Rivalry has taken home the Golden Hat 24 times.

That trend even held true in the 2018 Big 12 title game, which the Sooners won.

Rushing yards should be hard to come by on Saturday in Dallas. The Sooners and Longhorns are both top 11 in the nation at stopping the run. Not to mention, both programs have struggled to get the running game going on a consistent basis.

Some sort of success on first and second down will be critical for both offenses.

In the loss to Florida last week, Texas was 3 of 11 on third down and allowed quarterback Arch Manning to get sacked six times.

OU's defense, meanwhile, has lived in the backfield, ranking second in the nation in both tackles for loss and sacks.
