Los Angeles, Oct 10: In a major move to expand its entertainment portfolio, Netflix has announced that users can now play video games directly on their TVs — a first for the streaming giant.

Speaking at the Bloomberg Screentime Conference in Los Angeles, Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters revealed that select titles, including Boggle Party, Pictionary: Game Night, Tetris Time Warp, and Lego Party, are now available for TV play.

Until now, Netflix’s gaming feature was limited to mobile devices. With this update, subscribers can enjoy games on the big screen using their smartphones as controllers — no gaming console required.
