CARROLLTON -- Tommy Standridge Stadium was the battleground for Newman Smith hosting W.T. White for a District 6-5A Division I football showdown. Across a full four quarters, there was a singular minute that augmented the remainder of the game, leading to a 61-14 win for the Trojans.
While it was still a narrow margin, 6-0 in favor of Smith, the game shifted just seconds into the second quarter. Fresh off a fourth-and-goal attempt that didn’t land, the next four plays would see the Trojans (4-2, 4-0) post 14 points and tilt the game out of White’s control in less than a minute.
