When retired solicitor Nick Holroyd, 67, bought a mobile home at Luxury Lodges’ Dylan Coastal Resort in South Wales, he had no idea it would generate such a healthy return from being let out.

Instead, he saw it as a lifestyle purchase , as somewhere to visit with friends and family.

“It’s delivered in every way that we hoped for. We didn’t know the mobile home market before buying and placed our trust in the salesman.” Last year, Nick earned a net figure of £35,000 and hopes this year it will top £40,000.

“We had an apartment in Manchester that we were selling; instead of frittering the money from that away, we thought: ‘What can we do with the money so we can enjoy it?’” says Nick.
