Budgam, Oct 10: Authorities in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district have registered a formal police case after a viral video sparked public outrage showing a group of social media influencers driving vehicles across ecologically fragile pastures near the Breinwar forests.
Officials said the case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Indian Forest Act (IFA) following a formal complaint filed by the Forest Department. The video, which surfaced on social media platforms earlier this week, showed several vehicles driving through lush green meadows, leaving visible tire marks and damaging the delicate ecosystem.
Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, confirmed that legal action has been initiated against the individuals involved. “We have taken the matter seriously
