SPOKANE, Wash. -- A Spokane man was sentenced on Thursday to 32 years in prison for shooting and killing another man in 2022, according to Spokane County Prosecutor's Office.

On October 9, Spokane Superior Court sentenced 32-year-old Elijiah M. Harvey to 32 years in prison for the murder of 42-year-old Carlos Thomas in 2022.

According to court documents, Harvey and at least one other person were in a car and pulled into the parking lot of an apartment complex near 7th Avenue and Perry Street on New year's Eve 2022.

They parked next to another parked car, occupied by Thomas. After a few words were exchanged between the two cars, Harvey got out of his car and fired two shots into Thomas' car, hitting and killing him.
