Megan Mehl scored the only goal of the game for South Plainfield, but her lone tally was backed by a shutout performance from Tatiana Rowlands as it edged out Metuchen by a 1-0 margin in Metuchen.

Mehl’s goal came off of a third-quarter corner attempt and was assisted by Cecelia Cassio.

Rowlands made a pair of saves for South Planfield (8-6).

Maddie Bersch turned aside six South Plainfield shots in goal for Metuchen (6-7).
