Goa’s Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte has clarified that the state government has no plans to ban beef, affirming that culinary freedom and communal harmony remain integral to Goa’s identity and tourism appeal.
Amid speculation that the state’s push toward spiritual tourism might lead to dietary restrictions, Khaunte said Goa continues to uphold its inclusive culture and diverse food choices.
“We live in the form of communal harmony. Whether it is Diwali, Chaturthi, or Christmas, we visit each other’s homes and enjoy each other’s cuisine the way we want to,” he said, addressing a media query.
