REDDING, Calif. - With just under four weeks until the November 4th special election, the Shasta County Elections Office has made some significant changes to its office space and voting procedures.

The elections office knocked down a wall in their main room to allow for more voting observation, and also created a brand new room for observers to view the process as it's happening, with more than a dozen televisions to livestream the event. More changes include a new fenced-off area where election workers can fulfill duties after the initial voting process ends.

The elections office has also removed 9 of its 13 ballot drop boxes in the county, leaving only four locations, including Redding and Anderson City Hall, the Shasta Lake Visitor Center and the elections office on Market Street.
