New Delhi, October 10, 2025: The Supreme Court has emphasized that sex education should be introduced to students at a much younger age instead of beginning from Class 9 onwards. The court underlined the importance of making children aware of physical and emotional changes associated with puberty early on.
A bench comprising Justices Sanjay Kumar and Alok Aradhe observed that incorporating sex education into the curriculum at an earlier stage would help students better understand the developmental transitions they experience during adolescence. The judges noted that early awareness can foster healthy attitudes and responsible behavior among young people.
